If you could say one thing

Bluerosy May 31, 2012 11:39 PM

Since everyone is posting crap on the forum that has nothing to do with kingsnake care anyway. I thought I would pose a question of deeper meaning. Maybe this will help the problems we are having by getting to know a different side and drop the BS.
Will it make you put your gaurd down? Ya a little bit. But so what. We have seen the nasty sides of all of us. So how about the other sides?

I know that people probably like this sort of banter and come here for the fun of the debates. But sometimes it just goes to far..even for me. And it is possible that the owner of this site may have had just enough as well. So it might be taken way from all involved. We don't own this site. Its not public property.

I will just remind everyone that right above these threads there is a thread of a fellow herpetoculturist who just passed away. He kept his snakes until the very last day of his delbiltating desease.

Here is the question:

If you could say one thing, to everyone in the world

What would it be?

How many words do you get? Well it could be one sentence or a paragraph. That is up to you.

I agree with a lot of that. Not all of it. But most of it. Good stuff tony!

The purpose of my post was to show what connects us as human beings and not what seperates us. Not focus on our differences. Lets take the snakes out of it for a minute. We are all wrong. FR, Billy, Thomas, me and others who contributed to where we are.
What we might find is we have a lot more connecting us than we thought.

We are all human and have our good sides and our bad sides. By posing this question, I am hoping that people respond and not worry about backlash. it does not have to be some well thoughtout dictation on some revealtion to mankind. We already know what those are. We are that and we can't run away from that. we see that here.

What we can do is try. So try and answer the question without hidden motives or agendas. not to lash out. but just to drop the insecurities for a momment and enjoy what good or fun that each of us might have to say. It could be something funny. it doesn't matter. What matters it is not about snakes. FR said it is about the snakes. Well it is about people that need help now. Right now it is us that need the help. The peace. Lets try and extend that peace today.

Lets be honest. There are many reasons to point out my hypocrisy and point the finger at others. The issues here are to complex ..meaning us as people.

just hoping we can get one different thread here than we ever have had. It can be something as simple as peace, love one another, or violence is never the answer or charity ect.. just speak your mind to the world, let your mind loose and just speak out!.

The old saying "Life is Short" is very true. Think of a time when each one of us is/has been going through something life changing, a very sick relative or a very sick "self". These little arguments are VERY trivial in the big picture. These are our pets we talk about here, however, they are snakes. I have been through quite a bit in my life, with many close calls that almost ended my life. The most raw, true, unselfish moments have come immediately following the events.(most of the time in a hospital bed). The things that really matter in life are what myself, and others here I am sure, thought about at those moments. On another note, I would gladly stand up next to anyone here and defend our freedoms and country if need be and I am sure our snakes would seem very trivial at that moment as well. Have a good day everyone. Peace.

Ya life is a lot shorter than we think.

Even my grandmother who passed way at 99 yrs of age, said it felt like yesterday that she was a child. It was like poof, life goes by.. even when you live longer than others.

It works for me Rainer. I find the flickering flame visual quite useful.

I would imagine, we should keep it in the context of recent threads. After all, the keeping of kingsnakes is a small part of the human exsistance, but a important part for some individual people.

I think I would talk about respecting nature and treating it as if it was important.

To relate to the threads below, is it possible that some here refuse to consider that these snakes have behavior and a LIFE in the wild.

Considering these animals as social would put a damper on putting them in a box. So in order to keep them in boxes without a life, they HAVE to consider them mindless and without behavior. These folks may do so because they are good people and would not keep them in boxes if they actually believed they had social behavior(a life).

Overall, be understanding of nature, we cannot live without her. Cheers

Well, Rainer had asked to make it NOT about the snakes. But here we go again.

No offense to anyone. But there is passion and then there is passion. I am no where near as passionate about the snakes as FR.

I wonder how many can say they are.

FR Jun 02, 2012 09:48 AM

I said, BE KIND TO NATURE. which is more then snakes.

I added a bit of snake stuff because this is a snake forum.

So yes, I started with nature and ended with nature.

Again, its odd that lots of you folks only look for stuff to criticize and not anything of real meaning, Sad I tell you.
