Poor Veins... Oh No... :~( ???

deron Jun 02, 2012 04:52 PM

Hey...any one out there in ball python land have any luck hatching out eggs that started out with very poor vein development? Here are a couple of pics to show you...It is a pic of the same egg in the dark and in the light. What do you think??? It looks good on the outside... Just one little circle of veining, I hope they make it... Oh, by the way... its from a double het for True Ghost clutch using the VPI axanthic gene and high yellow ghost. Last year I bombed on the same pairing.

I hope all is good,
Deron

Hard to tell from the light pic....really don't see much in the way of veins there. Eggs can start out looking good from the outside, yet be unfertile. Incubate it with the rest until you know for sure it's good or no good.

If it was pink I'd say you'd probably have a good chance at veins showing up - but yellow - probably not. Doesn't hurt to give it a shot - if it starts to turn toss it.

I always incubate those but never have hatched one with that poor of vein structure. Good luck!
