2011 Black Gap

DISCERN Jun 03, 2012 10:38 PM

I was fortunate to score this 2011 Black Gap locality male from Larry Briggs/Rock Canyon Ranch. This little guy is so cool.

His gray on the first 4th of his body is darker than the following areas. Love the faded orange saddle with the faded gray line inside, on the neck.

He seems like he may potentially be a darker gray individual with bright orange, as his orange is really bright. Time will tell, and he has been such a joy to own.

I love the colors. These are definitely the coolest snakes in Texas, IMO.

Thanks Ross!

You can have 20 alterna and none look exactly the same. I love how their patterns and colors/shades, can differ with each individual.

Nice one Billy! Keep us posted with progression pics. I am guessing he'll be fairly dark as an adult?

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!

What's wrong with using CAUTION?!?!?!

Yeah bro, he may be dark as an adult. That is one of the fun things about alterna, you never know how they will turn out!

That's a real nice one. I have a pair of 9 mile siblings. The female is getting darker while the male is still fairly light. It'll be interesting to see what happens 6 months from now.
