Indeed it is!
A few weeks ago, I fed a male and female while they were copulating. They both had "the look" even though they were locked up.
Why?
When was the last time you saw a photo posted of a female sitting on eggs eating a rat?
Why?
Give me a break.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with feeding a snake on eggs. You haven't seen it before so you think it is wrong, why? Most don't use maternal incubation so there is never this opportunity. He didn't force the rat in there. If it was in the wild and on eggs, it would either eat the rat if it wanted to, or give it a defensive strike to make it leave, the same as it would do in his cage.

I guess I can see your point w/the female on eggs, as I often refer to "what would they do in nature" but while two wewre copulating?
What picture are you looking at ? It must be different than the one that comes up on my screen I guess.....LoL

Well, I've re-thought my post/stance! While it is correct that if a rodent came across a nesting female in the wild and taken down, if an egg was kicked out of the pile or broke in the "tussle", there would be no one there to care! In a maternal incubation at my home, I do care! I stand by my original thought! I would'nt do either one!
Addressing Female Eating on Eggs Photo: I actually agree with BuzzardBall. It is a cool picture, but I would be worried about damaging the eggs... It's fine if you guys want to try it, but it's not a choice I would have made.
Addressing any Reptile Husbandry Argument Ever: In any situation at all, it bothers me when reptile people validate what they do because of "what would happen in the wild." It is a moot argument. As a keeper, you are responsible to provide optimum care for your reptiles. "What would happen in the wild" is either here nor there.
Addressing the Comment of Feeding While Copulating: Seriously?! Feeding while COPULATING? That I would have to say, is wrong. You put them in a confined space to make them breed, them put them in a situation where food is available. The damage it could cause both of their vents (male or female) is way too high, just from the fast movements and the quarrel. Not to mention if they decided to wrap each other with their already connected tails in the process...
