If you use reptile bark or wooden reptile hides sometimes they harbor eggs for those little bugs your seeing. If your not, a quik bath in some lukewarm water using a white bowl will tell ya for sure...Paul

Just wash your substrate with really hot water. As for the snake shed problem try misting your snake cage twice a day when you know he is about to shed....Paul

Is there anything crawling on your snake?Without actually being there or having close up pictures this is just an educated guess.I have had the little white bugs in reptile bark and wood half log hides.I told you in the last post how to treat the wood...Paul..

there is nothing i can see crawing on him..the only thing i saw crawing around was the little white bugs..ill soak the hides and everything else in hot soapy water..but when i buy new bark, wont i have the same problem? should i just soak the bark in water and let it dry overnight or something? are these bugs harmful in any way?

They wont hurt your snake. When i used reptile bark i would put it in a old pillow case and let it sit in a tub of hot water for a couple of hours. When i washed it i used the same method then ran hot water thru the pillowcase tillthe water comming thru the pillowcase was clean looking....Paul.
