I was going with either S. GA / N FL as you suggested...
or eastern NC. It has just a hint of speckling which I thought could be some outer banks influence...
Some kings from near the GA/AL border have limited speckling on the first and sometimes second interband areas. It probably increases as you travel west toward holbrooki territory in central or west AL. It could also be near "sticticepts" territory though, like you said.

So far I've seen some speckling on Easterns from many areas. Here's one I found in Grady Co., GA earlier this year. If you notice, it had some speckling all the way down close to the tail.

And here's one I got from Pierson Hill. It was found in Cornelius, NC. A bit of a distance away from the Outer Banks.

That one you have Dean looks alot like some of the Kings found here in N. Florida. Have you seen the Florida pics on Keith Hillson's website? Check out the ones found in Leon County.
I've also found some dors out in the Apalachicola National Forest that look very similar as well. They were mostly Eastern but had varying degrees of interband lightening.
Lots of easterns have speckles inm them from MANT parts of their range.
Hmmmmmm, everyone is saying Georgia? Do y'all think THAT much illegal collecting is going on? If so, why are people still buying the supposed illegal animals? Just some food for thoughts.....
Personally, I'ver seen a LOT of snakes at the All Dixie Show that the collectors claimed were WC in Georgia. Stupid and dangerous to our hobby.

He didnt say it was wildcaught KJ. GA laws have not been on the books since 1910 (more recent like 1984 I think) so there probably is some GA stock out there thats legal. Im not saying collecting isnt going on in GA but it seems that you are insuating anybody with GA kings came by them in an illegal fashion. If anybody wants to be super technical every single bearded dragon is illegal as well so maybe we should get on the Beardie forum and start accusing people of international wildlife crimes.
