My first baby...

DChristensen Jun 06, 2012 06:02 PM

I had my first baby emerge from the egg this morning and I couldn't be happier. This little gem came from a Desert male to Pinstripe female... He/She has the coloration of the desert and has a nice nearly full stripe like his mom but is unlike any desert pinstripe I have ever seen.

Has anyone ever seen a full stripe Desert?

Tak. I appreciate the thoughts and look forward to the rest of the season.

last year, i used a non-striped desert male on various non-striped females, and got roughly 50% beautifully striped deserts.

i think deserts do that. at least mine does.

nice babies, congrats.

forgot to mention... thats is not a desert pinstripe. it's a desert.

google desert pinstripe and you'll see what you have is a beautiful desert. love the neck on that little snake of yours.

Hi Paul, thanks for the comments - I didn't mean to imply that I thought this baby was a desert pinstripe. I have not seen a desert with the full stripe before so I have been thinking this is just a very different desert. I know the desert pins have much thinner lines and patterning.

I missed on the double but his the desert so I am very happy with the unique pattern on this little gem.

By the way, the pattern is so different from his dad that I was really surprised.

Dad - who shows virtually no striping is below>>>
