Pastel fader pewter...

Was there any type of hets involved in the clutch? I had a clutch last year of pewter pos het hypo x cinnamon het hypo and produced some pewters that look pretty close to yours. I'd probably call them hets if I were to guess.

Pewter yellowbelly x nice import female was the breeding. The male is possible het for hypo but I suppose the female could have been het since hypos are not exactly rare. I figured it was the yellowbelly and the gene from the mother making the pewter so white. It's seriously white with dark purple outline. I don't think this guy is a fader since he doesn't have bleached out spots like the true faders have. I've got another female identical to the mother I'm assuming they are siblings so I will breed back one of the males to the other female and possibly the mom to see what's really going on. How did the ghost pewters turn out do you have updated pictures of them? Also I was thinking the hypo gene might be affecting the appearance. I've noticed that the bell line hypo that I'm working with seems to act as an enhancer and make the hets nicer so it might be a visible het hypo yb pewter import gene? Idk either way this female is amazing and an awesome way to start off the egg hatching season. I'm excited to see the other clutches hatch out I have a feeling my collection is about to double this year.

They aren't hypo. The pewter didn't prove out, but I'm almost certain the pewters and pastel are hets with the light color from them. Both pewters still look fantastic too. Maybe yours did the same and its het Hypo....who knows!

Fader? Aren't they a bit more washed out than that like pattern and color just blurred together? I have a feeling this fader term is thrown around too loosely.
