From sulfur mojave x pin pairing

AllBalledUp Jun 11, 2012 09:59 PM

Not sure what exactly we have here, mostly b/c not sure how to determine the presence of the sulfur gene. There are two jigsaws, and the contrast suggests that the unbroken stripe includes the sulfur gene. The head and overall lighter coloration suggest one pin and one sulfur pin, but I may be reaching there. And I have no idea whether the mojaves are just that, or have sulfur added in (they are way darker than dad so seems unlikely they got both genes). Anyway, if any of you are good at spotting the sulfur influence, and you want to help us out here, it would be much appreciated. Thanks...Dave

Another pic of what I hope/believe is a sulfur jigsaw.

I vote 1 sulfur jigsaw, 1 jigsaw, 1 sulfur pin, 1 pin & 2 mojave. Congrats!

That's how I was leaning. Thanks Alan, much appreciated!

This should be a Sulfur Pin and Pin, the Sulfur Pin is the lighter more golden colored one.

And this is a Sulfur Mojave and a Mojave....Sulfur Mojave looks like it has a maroon wash over it.

You are on your own with the Jigsaw

I have exactly no camera skills, but probably don't need to say that.

Here are the pins again.

I dunno; it's a close call.

Thanks a bunch for responding!

I would say you probably have one Sulfur Mojave, but it is hard to tell in your pic. After noticing that you actually have two Jigsaws, I would say you probably have a Sulfur Saw. The Sulfur seems to enhance the striping, a lot of my Sulfur Mojaves have nice stripes. I would say one Sulfur Mojave, one Mojave, one Sulfur Jigsaw, one Jigsaw, one Sulfur Pin, and one Pin....take a better pic of both Mojaves, and I can tell you for 99% certainty

Thanks for all the great feedback. Here is a (slightly) better pic of the pins and mojaves.

Still hard to tell on the Mojaves. Once they shed, or if you can get some closer pics of both Mojaves, post em. You should see a lighter head, and maroon coloring.

Thanks, Dave. Both mojaves, which were all the way out two full days before any of the others pipped, have now started their shed cycles. I will post again when I have some fresh pics. Appreciate your help!
