OT snake removal

I hate to remove such beautiful animals from my yard. But i have an 8 year old daughter running around in it.

kinda a bummer. Released down the road from me.

cool man!, im digging the broom
our coppers here in houston are plentiful, i work with animal control and regularly remove them from peoples yards. last year in the drought i had more than a dozen copper removals this year only one so far.

Excellent photo of the copperhead in that slideshow. I'm going to borrow that to show my sons as I'm helping them distinguish venomous from nonvenomous.

Also clicked back through some of your other photos and those babies are gorgeous.

That little snake has awesome camouflage coloring. You'd never see it in the leaves. I find rattlesnakes occasionally, and relocate them as well. At least the rattlers buzz their tails; if I hear steam hissing from a pipe and know there are no pipes in the vicinity, I freeze until I spot out the snake.

Thanks for sharing that Rainer. I always thought copperheads were one of the most beautiful of the venomous.

I posted this in the What is it? forum a few days ago. This is a copperhead from a friends backyard. He blended very well with the pinestraw.
