Post Tramatic Skin Disorder

Seeves1982 Jun 15, 2012 06:17 PM

On the normal that just laid her eggs. I looked at her today and she was keeping her mouth open. I checked her out and I noticed her skin around her neck was really loose. I didn't think that was really unusual because she just made a lot of room in her body. It looked like her loose skin may have been dragging pulling her mouth open a little, but I'm not sure. This has been my first breeding. Just wanted to see what you guys had to say. Is this normal or should I be watching her closely.

I went back in to check on her and saw that she regurgitated. She held the rat since 12am this morning until around 7 tonight. What would cause this. Is it anything to really worry about or could I have just tried to feed her too soon. She just laid on the 8th. A guy a spoke to mentioned that I should give her a dose of flagsall or something like that that kills the bacteria in the stomach. Anyone have any experience with this?

It's Flagyl! You're gonna need a weight on your animal!

Is it necessary for treatment at this point or count she just be a little over stressed?

I have seen this before in females after laying. Remember, she has probably been with out a meal for 2-3 months and most of her stored fat has been all used up. Give her another week to settle down and offer her a smaller sized food item 9Like a rat chub/ small- small rat). step up the prey items slightly over the next month untill she is back on track.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Thanks.

Remember! Wait a week!!!! Offer a very small prey item. Wait another week and offer something slightly larger. Continue weekly offering larger prey items and take it SLOW, until she can hold down a normal prey size. Good luck!
