Syspila clutch is out

Dniles Jun 20, 2012 04:29 PM

My clutch of syspila hatched out last week and some started to shed and I couldn't wait any longer to post the ones that shed. I had high hopes for this clutch given the female is so bright for an adult, I was hoping a few would look like her and they do.

Here they are starting to emerge...

Here is a group shot with some still in shed.

Here are a few from that gropu that did shed

And here is the pick of the litter (although another one in shed looks very similar). He looks like mom. Look at the red cap on this guy.

Remember this really nice red eastern from my Amherst County VA clutch that I posted last week?

Here it is with this red milk for comparison purposes. The red milk really is orange.

Here is another really nice one that shed

Here is the dam that I rave about so much

Your killing me Dave!

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!

Wow! Congrats on the big healthy clutch. The mom is a beauty, and so is the red-capped hatchling that favors her.
