First baby king of 2012

a153fish Jun 22, 2012 04:48 PM

I know this is not a big deal, but I'm excited everytime I get eggs hatching. This was a small clutch of 5 eggs from a Sulfur Lavender female with a male Jelly possible het Lavender. Hopefully I get one or two Lavenders in the remaining 3 eggs.

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!

That's killer to me....any successful breeding project that yields live, healthy neonates is awesome.......

And they look nice and healthy!

Those two hatched out very early, and the others are not even pipping yet. I'm tempted to cut a slit in the top, but I haven't done it yet.

I have a pair of Hndurans that are making me pull my hair out in anticipation, lol. The female has looked very swollen for a long time now, but I am just recently been able to feel some eggs. I only felt 3 but I'll take them, and try for a second clutch also.

Pretty little things! I think what would be neat is if they could retain their baby colors into adulthood.

pretty cool also! Most of the reds tends to translate to yellow, but we'll see. Those should turn out nice because of the sulfur influence.

I think it's a big deal and totally awesome! Congrats on the beautiful babies! Would love to see pics of them all when they finish hatching!

a153fish Jun 23, 2012 05:48 PM

At this point I don't know if they will hatch? The first 2 hatched way early, and now these last 3 have me very worried. I have a lot more eggs incubating besides these, but I stll stress over them, lol.
