New baby...

SouthernSerpent Jun 23, 2012 07:44 PM

Okay, so I was beating around town yesterday buying up some substrate for cage maintainence day, and ran across a display in a pet store that said het pied babies. There were two of them in the enclosure. I checked out both of them, and I think that they were sold to the store as 100% hets, but are only 66% or even 50%. One had very good genetic markers, and the other looked just like a normal ball python. I decided to purchase the one with the good markers, and now have popped it. It is a female. So, with that being done and it is a baby, i have a long wait before I need a male for her. Im thinking I should go with a visible pied male. That way there should be very little room for error in proving her out when she has reached breeding size. Correct? Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions they would like to share with me? I also am searching for a breeding size or near breeding size female spider, and that is proving to be a fun thing since there are so many spiders listed, but I am going to be very choosy on that one for certain. Thanks.

Going for a visual pied male in your case would be a good road to take to try and prove her out. Good luck!!
