Post Shed Eggs

JMo Jun 27, 2012 03:59 PM

I just had a third clutch dropped - all three have been over 30 days past the shed date. One was 37 days; one was 32 days and this last one 34 days. Seems like egg arrivals this season have been happening a bit later than usual?

Has anyone come up with a viable reason as to why this may be happening?

Thanks,
Jim

30 days isn't a absolute. 30 days is the aprox. Sounds like yours are right on schedule in my opinion.

I have had 10 females lay eggs so far this year. The average for this group of 10 was 27.1 days from P.O.S. to laying eggs. They have ranged from as soon as 23 days post shed to 31 days. Only one female went more than 30.
