The collard I have is an eastern male which I got last year as a baby. Currently a good 10 inches with tail. The question I have is he doesn't take to grasshoppers or crickets as much as mealworms. Healthy looking as can be but one that I had years ago ate anything and everything including small scorpions and anoles. Wondering what other people feed there's?

My female eats anything as long as it moves. That includes crickets, moths, grasshoppers, wax worms, mealworms, occasionally anoles. She shows little interest in pinkie mice though. My male that died last year ate pinkies and would occasionally fish for minnows. Some people have luck feeding some greens and blossoms but I never have.

My female's fave is the wax worms, but she only gets them 4-5x a month.

when u say you fed them anoles, do you mean you fed one lizard another...? expensive meal?

occasionally I find young anoles in the water buckets in the horse barns that I work at. I bring them home and feed them to Bonita. Sometimes I bring them home and realize they are too big for her and keep them for a while before releasing them back at the barn. It is really sad and gruesome and lately I have not had the heart to bring any home, but she likes them for a special treat. I grew up catching anoles and keeping them for pets so it is really hard for me, but a lot of people use them as feeder lizards. from what I understand you can order them online like ordering frozen rats or crickets. Ewww!

The anoles were free and in the back yard. Same with the scorpions. To me no difference then what a full male collard eats in the wild. Some think it's kinda disgusting but no worse than feeding them mice. I'm one who believes in giving my lizards the best possible meals to maintain a healthy lizard.
