I reccomend watching all 3 parts. There is even a section on the lacy act and it 1 million laws we are all breaking.

Bottom line is, never talk to the cops, LEO, F&G, Dept of agriculture, zoo biologists and any other link to or connected to law enforcement officers should they come knocking on your door or call you over the phone to ask questions.

Unless they agree to provide papers from them guranteeing immunity. Don't be fooled because YOU THINK you are not breaking any laws. LAw enforcement just wants to sniff around and find whatever they can TO USE AGAINST YOU. DON"T LET THEM INTO YOUR HOUSE EITHER. EVEN IF THEY ASK!

I get inspected all the time, by agriculture and fish and game for several licences and have never had even close to a problem. They have always been very nice and helped me with any problems I might have had. That has always been non criminal and I can understand not saying anything to incriminate yourself but 99% of the time talking gets you out of trouble. Knowing when to shut up, is a good skill to have.

What happened to you? Who hurt your feelings?

Yes it all depends on your experinces. Since I am 53 years old. I have a bit on you. Give it time.

It is like gun ownership. You can say you never had anyone go after your family and belive that guns are the problem and should be more regulated.

I think I will take the law professors advice over yours Gerard. No hurt feelings, okay!

BTW I am sort of a radical anarchist.

It's cool, I understand why you think the way you do and experience is very important. It's what kind of experience you have experienced not what you have learned that matters on that subject, not doing anything wrong also helps a lot.

actually the point of not talking to the police is NOT KNOWING YOU ARE DOING ANYTHING WRONG.

For instance in GA all kingsnakes, milks, ratsnakes colubrids are illegal in GA. Even though the pets shops all carry them and there are reptiles shows ect. Even people like me who have a licence and are inspected. Ga Law Enforcement just does not enforce the law. Unless the feel like it or want to. They say they protect only the native subspecies but the way the law is written there are no subspecific levels. It all Lampropeltis ect.

A few years back my ex wife and i were going through a nasty court battle. She decided to call DNR and tell them i had illagal and venenmous snakes. I had 30 people at my door the next morning and even though i had no native snakes or venemous is when i discovred all snakes are illgal and they enforce it when idiots from the zoo make fale identifications, Police are identifying snakes and so are the Field F&G and DNR enforcement. It was a circus.

In the end I came out victorious. I think that Fox turtle had an encounter last year driving through GA and was thrown in jail.

They can do what they want. Just shut your mouth and don't ever talk to the police, or if they come to your door, call you on the phone ect. That includes investigations, IRS ect

Did you watch all three videos yet? Did you watch the parts on the lacy act and animals?? We are all breaking the laws without knowing it. So just because YOU THINK you aren't. Really you are.

Just shut your mouth.

Rainer, I have had them come in with warrants and guns in my face for Lacey act. I talked to them and they learned I didn't do anything and I never saw or heard from them again.
Now, my wife is someone I wouldn't mess with, like I said, learning when to shut is a good skill.

one of the reasons i stopped vending at the nrbe many moons ago were the laws i would be subject to if i happened to be stopped and searched. i did not need that sort of aggravation over kings and pines. especially teh lacey act.

a ny license plate with a back end full of goodies rolling through nc va ga or sc could've been a field day for some trooper or prosecutor. fla is kind of like ny's arm with all the retirees so i didn't worry too much there. lol. but its kind of like blackjack, you gotta know when your streak is up. i came out ahead!

rainer, i did not know you were a radical!

peace,

Some of you guys must really be paranoid about cops or have had some really bad experiences. To think they are all out to just get you is plain nonsense. Sure there are bad apples in every profession and we all need to protect ourselves but a good attitude goes a loooooong way. I can't tell you how many cops have been super friendly with me, let me off on warnings for speeding, traffic violations, etc. over the years. If you give them a reason to make them think you're guilty, you're probably going to have a rougher time. If you're doing something illegal, it's probably why you're more paranoid than others. People that aren't doing anything wrong typically don't have issues with being scared of cops. The people that are breaking the law on the other hand, tend to be the ones that fear what may happen.

It's good to know you're rights but it's another thing to be paranoid about the law. Stop breaking the law and maybe you'll feel more at ease.

GerardS Jul 01, 2012 09:19 PM

Yeah, it's all about experience and attitude. Its pretty clear his attitude so I can picture his experience perfectly clear. I have to laugh, I'm accused of always arguing with Rainer by the guy who always has to defend him. I wish we could have a discussion without them trying to get everything they say that's stupid, erased.

I never thought I would read about this attitude about cops from grown men. I remember back when I was a teen, I knew some guys who had the same attitude, but they were teenagers. You would figure some would grow outta it.

and...I could not have said it better myself.

I work with cops a lot, since I'm in the social services/disaster relief field. 90% of them are great people, but about 5-6% of them just really suck...and you don't know which one you drew at that particular traffic stop or whatever. So be polite, but distant, and don't answer questions, don't blab, and don't run your mouth. I've seen people do that and get busted more than once.

Thank you, BR. I reposted this to friends on Facebook too. Everyone should watch. I have a couple of friends going through law school (One is about to take the bar) and they said it was an excellent video for all Americans to watch.

So just for the record, the complaints may stop.

Here is the deal, there are parts that pertain to keeping animals. There are parts that are informative for those herping. Hell there are parts that are informative to all.

Put it to ya this way.

Anyone want to tell me WHY my foster sand boa has a water dish with water?

Knowing and understanding laws is important in all facets of life.

Also if I kept posts that are only on topic, we would NEVER see Kerby's fabu facial hair.

All animals must be provided clean fresh drinking water. It doesnt matter that in the wild the animal would never encounter it and the fact that it can increase humidity in the enclosure... SIGH
