Ok so here it is I have been working with what I have thought was a 100% het desert ghost (Bell Line Recessive) from a big name breeder, I bred the 100% het male to a normal female in 07 she produced 3 eggs all 3 females I kept the girls. Then the following year I bred the same het male to I think 3 or 4 normal females and kept the 10 females produced in 08. So I have 13 50% poss het desert ghosts. 3 laid last season no morphs 3 have laid this season so far with 3 more to lay. 2 of the 3 clutches have hatched and to what I can tell these are caramels with maybe something else going on but Im not seeing desert ghost anywhere. Now with that being said Im not an idiot or just started doing this yesterday Ive been breeding balls for about 10 years now I know its possible to miss on odds but with only caramels being produced in 2 clutches this year and no desert ghosts or other morphs last year the male I recieved from the "big breeder" has obviously proven out to be 100% het caramel and maybe something subtle or I could be hoping its something else just because I feel screwed but Ive just totally missed out on the desert ghost. Im asking EVERYONE opinion what do you all think. Let me know Thanks

I think your original het male is het Caramel and not het desert ghost. Sorry, i don't see anything special in the Caramels.

it sounds bad right now, but not sure you have enough clutches hatched to be definitive. Further, if this snake came from the Bells, a lot of there desert ghost stuff had caramel mixed in. i know a couple of people that bought desert hets and got a dbl het instead(car, des). i would say hatching the caramels is actually a very good sign. just my opinion.

good luck.

P.S. i think from what I've seen a caramel het desert does look different. like a really super nice caramel. maybe someone else can confirm that.

Here's the update so I bought the Het desert ghost from Prehistoric Pets 6 years ago so when the caramels hatched you can see there are 2 not like the other same with the "normals" I got in touch with Jay Brewer at Prehistoric Pets and he told me that he thought I hit on the double recessive desert ghost caramel albino but that I should get in touch with the Mark Bell. So I told my buddy Jared Carr who knows Mark and Kim very well he told me that he thunks its the desert ghost caramel albino to contact Marks brother Jeff. After calling Reptile Industries Inc and leaving a message for Jeff he called back in about 30 minutes. We talked for about 30 minutes or so he told me to send him all pics I had of my 2 clutches this season. And come to find out from the man that has seen more desert ghost morphs than anyone I hit on the double recessive twice in one season but the one from the first clutch died very near hatching so did its desert ghost sibling. Jeff explained that they produce a lot of 100% Het this possible Het that but that its 100% evident after 3-4 sheds there will be no double t they are what he said. So from my 100% desert ghost to 2 of his offspring I hit 2 double recessives. That means those 2 possible Het girls are now 100% DH desert ghost caramel and I have 11 other opportunities with the original males offspring. I'm ssssssooooooo excited I'll post pics as they shed I got from this most recent clutch
1.0 desert ghost caramel albino
1.0 caramel albino 66% Het desert ghost
1.0 desert ghost 66% Het caramel albino
0.1 desert ghost 66% Het caramel albino
2.0 66% double Het desert ghost caramel albino
