adamant Oct 05, 2003 12:53 PM

Leopard Geckos and sand, I would like some feed back on people that use Calcium sand like bone-aid,ESU or zoo med brands. I have
been reading on the web and 60% say no to Calcium sand and 40% say its ok!
(((Each of the companys say it's 100% ok/good for them .)))
just look in for some info
thank you
adam

i still wouldnt do it. That stuff will actually form a ball in the gut that can cause death. It doesnt digest in the presence of stomach acid, it just compacts into concrete. There were pix on the bearded dragon forum not too long ago of a sand ball that killed a BD, and it was a commercial calcium sand.

Just MHO,
Jamie
