What size should my water dragon be when I take it off paper towels? And what should I use when I take it off? Thanks in advance!!!

I dont know about size but mine was about 4 months old when I switched. You could probably go by when he gets off the tiny crickets and hes eating the 1/2 to 3/4 size. Some grow faster than others. Mine also always poops in his water so cleaning is easy. I decided to use a mulch substrate more because I like the natural type substrates and it holds humidity well. I would stay away from particle substrates like sand. Ive seen some nice slate and tile substrates as well as cage carpet and the ground coconut husk stuff. There are a few options you could go with. It just depends on what look you are going for.

i use coconut fiber(eco-earth bricks) its the stuff that costs about $4, and it comes in a brick, you put it in water for about 20 mins and expands 8 times its original size. i mixed it with about hald a bag of bark chips.it works very well for me.
