Digital thermometers ideas for egg incubation

ReptileZ Oct 05, 2003 02:00 PM

I have a hova bator incubator and was wondering if digital thermometers are more accurate than analog ones. I've been using two seperate analog thermometers, and I would like to get a better reading, not only for accuracy, but something that has probes that can go into each individual egg container.

I know there are some $130 ones out there, but I can't afford that right now. So, any advice, whether I should just keep what I have or buy something better?

Thanks

I have an IR termometer that I bought from Radio Shack for less that $50.00. I use it to spot check the media temperatures for each clutch. I don't normally use an incubator for Colubrid eggs, but you could still use it the same way to adjust the thermostat on the Hovabator.
