I'm a true beliver of mercury bulbs..........

They are great! My beardie has really changed since I got my ActiveUV bulb. He is really active and his appetite is very good. It used to be that he'd only eat 5 crix, but now he is eating 12 crix or more. Even his color has changed! Much brighter. I even think it gave him a growth spurt(maybe it's just how fast beardies grow). But i didn't notice until now. I will definately be getting these from now on! The only downsides are that it gives off some bluish light and that it doesn't get hotter than my 150 normal spot(mine is 160). But those are minor more personal probs. The beardie doesn't seem to mind the color. I think that I'll be getting the zoo med kind in the future though since I hear they don't give off any colored light. THIS LIGHT IS A MUST BUY!!!

I'm glad you, and your buddy like your new mvb. I too use them for all my dragon enclosures as well. They just seem to do much better, and look much better under them. Light intensity is very important to stimulate their daily activities. Uvb is very important for them to live and thrive, and get the most out of their lives. They just do much better under them, and from what I saw many grow a lot larger, and healthier as well when under strong uvb, and supplemented with calcium with d3 as well. Fake sunlight cannot do it all, and neither can a jar of calcium powder with vit d3, but together I've had some great success with large, healthy dragons so far. I'm glad you noticed some differences that some good old uvb can do to a dragon. Just be careful with the bulbs. They are fragile and if banged around a bit they will blow. They work best if you just screw them in and leave them alone. If you can suspend it over the basking spot so it's not resting on the screen, So you don't jiggle it every time you open the cage. If you have to rest it on the screen use a 10 inch dome to keep the bulb itself from touching the screen. If the bulb itself rests on the screen you will get hot spots. I have melamine cages that all I do is screw them in once and leave them until they blow, and they all last so much longer them the ones I have to rest on top of the cages. One other thing. When handling the bulbs and getting them out of the boxes use paper towels so not to touch them with your hands. Finger oils can cause hot spots and will shorten life as well. Good Luck with them. I'm sure your dragon is much better off with them.
