I love how it looks with the dark eyes!

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!

That is impressive. Of course you realize that turtle would be eaten within hours of hatching in the wild. Natural selection would nail it's butt.

GerardS Jul 13, 2012 11:39 AM

You would think so but I have seen many wc adult albino turtles. They always have a lot of algae growth on their back and look very dirty. I'm sure most do get eaten soon after being born, though.

Yeah, but this isn't a hybrid like the mongrels, the colubrid or python mongrels. 100% pure graptemys! lol!

My first clutch of albinos is going to hatch in a few weeks. Only one other person has ever hatched any, I'm really excited.

This is my original female when she was a month old. Nothing comes close to this gene, it's a remarkable animal to see in person.

Wow, that IS incredible. I can only imagine what they look like in person. Why will you be the only other person to hatch a clutch of albinos? Is it hard to get them to breed or something?
-----

GerardS Jul 13, 2012 12:59 PM

They are not that hard, it's just a rare gene. He only sold one to me awhile ago and only produced one since.

It's the same but it has red pupils and only a little. I'm happy with it, can't wait to see it in a few months with some size.
