Looking for a Good Breeder / Genetics

LeeC Jul 16, 2012 03:06 PM

Hi, I am currently looking to find a breeder/dealer that has normal (or other) balls with good hets. I want to start my own breeding project with a 1.1 or 1.2 group. Money is tight so the better the genetics for less money is ideal. I really want to breed for pied, albino, axanthic, ivory, lavender, Blue Eyed Leucistic, or pastel. (ghost or snow too!)

My ideal group would be 1.2 normals het pied, snow, ghost. No matter what genetics, I really want het pied in there. White balls are my favorite.

Any ideas for a good breeder to talk to? You can also reach me @ lee.crenshaw@gmail.com. THANKS!

Howdy Lee,

You'll have to hit the Classifieds or start looking through the breeder advertisements just above the forums messages. A post like this *could* be considered advertising, so don't feel too down if it gets removed. As always, do your research before buying a snake from any breeder.

Also, where are you located? Shipping could be a considerable part of a lower priced purchase so you should try to find someone local. And how patient are you? I tried to give a hatchling het pied away with an adult and the breeder didn't want her because of the time it would take to grow up and produce eggs. If you don't have the money it will help a lot if you are willing to spend the time to grow up babies.

I'm located in NW oregon, and yes I am willing to wait for them to grow... actually that's what I prefer. I'm not trying to start breeding this year, maybe in a year or 2. I would like some 2012 hatchlings, from a good breeder with great genetics. I love snakes as pets and am not looking to make a bunch of money, I just want to eventually produce some nice looking balls.

Yes, I know it could, and I wouldn't be sad if so. I'm looking for info on a good ball breeder, not asking for offers on snakes. I've used kingsnake.com before for snake purchases. (a few corns, and a Brazilian rainbow from jeff clark) I do daily research on whats available and the projects on everyone's page. I would like some personal opinions and maybe experiences with good breeders, maybe just a point in the right direction. I have owned balls before just never bred or bought one online.
