Corn Isle boas born...

TCReptile Jul 19, 2012 07:09 AM

These were born sometime last night. I've been working with dwarf boas for five years or so and this is my first litter of boas although I have bred some other reptiles over the last two decades. This is pretty exciting stuff for me. I just found them a few minutes ago and pulled the female. Then I misted the cage the babies are in really well and placed some moistened newsprint over the pile. It looks like I have six live babies. One of them has already dispersed and is actively cruising. The others all responded to a gentle touch so they are all alive for now. No slugs. I really haven't found out yet if I have any big belly or hard belly babies to deal with.

Anyway, it's taken a long time to get here, a very rewarding morning for sure.

Congrats Tommy! Beautiful boas!

Would love to see some pics of them once they're all "cleaned" up!

They look beautiful! Congrats on your first litter. I had my first litter 10 days ago. It is so exhilerating. Especially after you've been raising them up for 4 years and dreams finally come true. Looking forward to more pics.
