What is a het for snow het for? I have a desert king het for snow. Albino and anerythristic? They do not have much red so what difference would it make?

A "snow" Cal. king is an albino (amel) x hypermelanistic (or even melanistic, i.e. all black) since there is no such thing as an anery Cal. king as there is in say the Hondurans or cornsnakes.

I first thought you meant Desert phase Cal. king. After re-reading your post, if you are referring to a snow Desert king (L.g.splendida) as the one's Don Shores produced recently, those are amel x axanthic. As you mentioned, there is no red pigment normally involved(erythrin), only yellow. So when the F-1 hets are bred to each other, a theoretical 25% will be snows displaying neither color.

Here is one of Don's snow splendida.....

Meant to say that two snow double hets will have a 1/16th chance of producing a double homozygous snow. The 25% I mentioned earlier was the odds for hets carrying a single mutation. You will get normals, amels and axanthics from the double het x double het breeding too.

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!
