Quick Question

Wondering what baby wild snakes eats? I mean, there can't be new born pinkies ready available for them. Surely they eat other things when they are first born.

I ran over this baby black racer with the lawn mower. It was limp and bleeding out the mouth. I just put it in a container and finished cutting grass. When I came back it was alive and well. Well, it had a crooked mouth and a cut on it's left side of it's face. Probable a baby of the one I caught and released earlier this year.

Some baby snakes will eat insects, then graduate to lizards and mice and a few other things. I bet he would eat crickets.

Newborn lizards, lizard eggs, newborn pinks, crickets, grubs, smaller snakes and ground nesting birds, their eggs and their chicks.

Thanks John and Ross. I will try some pin head crickets and maybe dig up some grubs in the yard.
