elaphopeltishow Jul 23, 2012 05:24 PM

My second clutch of Outerbanks Kings started hatching out yesterday. The first to emerge was tomy great surprise and delight an aberrant OB with an almost complete vertebral stripe. Can't wait to see after the first shed.

No pics as yet. I did not know kingsnake forum has evolved into a picture only zone. Well, for those of you that are going, I am bringing the striper along with the other OBX to the Myrtle show, so you can all take pics yourselves. sorry about that

Bluerosy Jul 23, 2012 09:05 PM

Hey i got a king with blue stripes on its neck and orange and green eyes with a tail that looks like its shooting lightning bolts out of its As$.

It is not a picture only zone. But when you talk about some new stripe on a kingsnake of course a pic is expected rather than just a description.

Working on pics. Sorry you are so spoiled that you "expect" photos. With my photog skills and interest, and with the high priority I have put on taking pics, they may not be posted till long after the snake has expired. But hey at least he will be easy to pose.

C'mon, Howie, it's the 21st century!

There's a slim chance I'll make the myrtle show but probably not. Like Rainer and a few others here, I'd love to see a pic. Not of you, of the snake, understand. If you can get a pic, I'll post it for you.

Terry (remember we got into the field together once--in the 20th century, I think it was. Sad thing is, that's almost the truth!)

elaphopeltishow Jul 25, 2012 09:31 AM

Hi Terry, great to hear from you. Yeah I seem to remember us catching 7 eastern Kings that day, 1 for Stan Chiras, 2 or 3 for Brad, 2 for me, and how many did you catch that day? lol tbw, I paired two incredible wide-banded and complete chained vaBeach Chains, and this clutch started pipping today. Can't wait to see those offspring.
As for this being the 21st century,I did'nt know. The brain is still fuzzy after the 1960s.I am a crummy photographer terry. Fly in and do take some pics anytime. I hope you are well.

Rerally? Shows what you know newb!

Anyone that has been around long enough knows I hold the record here for posting more pics than anyone up to date.

Geez Howie that's just mean...my imagination isn't what it was so I need a visual aid of some kind.

elaphopeltishow Jul 25, 2012 09:33 AM

Hi Lucy, sorry I have been so mean to you with no photo. some of us are not great photogs, some of us do not even have cameras. Believe it or not. But I will work on pics, it's just when I will get around to it that is the big question. lol

Hey Doug, How ya doing man? I have successfully weaned off of the kingsnake forum. I remembered why immediately as the first response to my first post in a year was an immediate criticism. are you coming to myrtle beach expo? Love to see you up there. How did you do with the OB Kings this year? I had 2 clutches. the first was awful, just 2 of 8 eggs hatched. the second clutch was 12, and 5 aberrants and one of those aberrants striped. very cool.

Hey there Billy, Hope you are doing great. I will miss my first ever NRBE, and have opted instead to go to the Myrtle beach expo. It is so much closer for me, and I hear it is a great venue for sales. we will see. You going to be there or just going to the NRBE?

DISCERN Jul 26, 2012 01:31 AM

Howie!

I most likely will not be able to attend either.

Working on them Dennis. But please, do not hold your breath, as I am not a photographer type. Inless if beer comes with a built in camera.

willstill Jul 27, 2012 10:32 PM

Hi Howie,

Congrats buddy. Is the sire of this striper that crazy semi-striped/hypo-ish male that I handed over a couple of years ago? His daughter had her first clutch of 4 hatch this week. Three are classic, but highly speckled already, and one looks like granddad. Anyway, if you get pics, I'd love to see 'em.

Will I see you in Daytona this year?

Will

elaphopeltishow Jul 28, 2012 10:08 PM

Hey Wil good to hear from you. hw ia not the dad of the striper, but sure did produce a nice clutch however. I cannot make the daytona show, but will be at myrtle this year. You? and I want you to cherry pick an OBX to finally do you a bit of kindness after handing me that awesome male OBX.I will post a pic in a separate post.
