True C.B. Greeks?

I got this pair from a guy, he said they were true c.b. golden greek tortoises, the one is looking like a normal greek but the other is looking like a golden, do you guys think these are true c.b.'s? he has had them for a year and half now

The guy is feeding you a line. These are both Middle Eastern Greeks, but they aren't captive bred. The first of these came into the US in 2001 and these are older than two years old.

FWIW, the husbandry on these is the same as Egyptian's. That has worked like a charm for us with our two subspecies, Terrestris and Soussensis.

Ernie, some of the 'golden greeks' did make their way into the country in 98 and 99, that I know of, and I'll be willing to bet earlier than that.

If they are CB make sure you get the guys notes on how he raised them because they look like they are straight out of the wild. Odds are they are not CB but you really can't say unless you know the history of the animals. Either way, that is a very nice pair of tortoises and they make dynamite pets.
