I would not wild collect these b/c of parasite issues but am considering ordering some. Anyone do this? pros/cons? The only place that I have found with a good rep. is Skipio's.

I've not ordered house flies online, but one of my best friends is a long time family friend of the Skipio's guy and his business is impeccable. They just visited him this last week.
Back in the old days before I knew any better, I fed my old anole house flies that I caught in the garage at my parents' house. Max loved them - they were fun to chase and just the right size. They have a decent calcium/phosphorus ratio, too. The only things I would worry about are exoskeletons and containment. I read somewhere (and darned if I know where), that if you feed lots of flies, it gets hard for them to digest the exoskeletons. And I haven't figured out how to keep them. Crickets can be a pill, but at least they don't fly. If you're going to feed just the larvae, then obviously aren't a concern.
How's the new setup, by the way?

if you do get them, and use the adult flies as feeders, will you post how you do it? What do you keep them in? How do you transfer them to the lizard enclosure? What about escapees? Etc. etc.

I've seen flightless fruit flies, but where do you get flightless HOUSE flies?
Thanks!

go to 'other reptiles'
"House Fly Cultures (flightless)
Excellent food source for chameleons as well as large frogs.
House Fly Cultures 24 oz. Jar $5.00"

I don't know if anyone's still paying attention to this topic, but I'll ask anyway. I went to the website you recommended (flightless HOUSE flies! who knew?). They are out of stock on them right now. Anyone have any other suggestions where to get some?
Thanks!
