Anyone seen the post by John Kurpas? Is there really a new green co-dominant? I am very interested in the green color. $600 each is a bit much for me if it is only a line trait and not a true Co-Dominant.

I was interested too when he had them priced at $800. now its $600...who knows, maybe they'll go even lower(LOL). I received some pics from him via e-mail, but being new to hogs I'm hesitant to spend money on what seems to be an unknown. Plus, I don't know who he is, where he's from, or anyone who has dealt with him. I don't like people who want to sell expensive animals like this, but don't even post where they're located, or how they know what they know about this "co-dominant". They are beautiful, but look like nice green hypos to me. Just my opinion, they could be just what he states they are for all I know, but, like you, I would want to hear it from some other hognose expert before buying.
This is far from a proven morph. The person selling them has never hatched a hognose clutch that I am aware of. Maybe he can post pictures of the few generations he hatched out that it generally takes in order to prove a morph to be anything. You would think that a new codominant morph would cost more than 600 bucks if it was legit? Why sell yourself short and lower your price?
When the price goes down like that on a "new morph" it tells me that no one is buying into it and it is not an actual morph. Besides all that, the photos look like they have been "enhanced" a bit.
Hi to all this John the no body I've breed hognose for over ten years as a hobby 1 or 2 clothes a year. I have sent pics of multiple generations in emails to people who have asked there are over 6 years worth of breeding done on this gene but I guess only big named breeders get to find the new gene well tuff they did not in this case I did if you want new blood and a new color besides red I'm the one who has the green co-dom nobody else but hey I love the fact you all are talking about little ol me
Thank
John Kurpas
Lol... John come on now.... I usially stay out if this kind of bla bla but...Let's keep it real if you are gna ramble.
I have every email and text we have ever shared.
Be as cocky as you want but be honest man.
If you have been in the game breeding snakes for 10 years at this point you would know how to silence the crowd with professionalism.
You could easily do this by keeping your composure and providing adequate proof that you In fact have a new proven gene.
Proving new genetics is for all of us to enjoy not just the big breeders don't short change yourself by being hot headed because people are questioning you.
I have know you and shared many convos with you over the last few years. This is the first I have ever heard or seen of these "evo greens". And I as a we known breeder question you. Not to be a jerk but as an investor in the species.
Give yourself a good reputation by being a good honest cat.
-Always keep it real and do the work it takes to remove all reasonable dout.
I have been working on the super blondes, hot tamales and tigers for years with out releasing a single animal(you have seen them) disbite the fact people want them and continuously ask about them I release ZERO.
My theory is that if there is a demand it won't go anywhere and the longer you hold out the more people will find interest.
What's the rush John?..
you are self clamed to be the only one who has them and you have got the attention you need to sell a proven genetic.
Prove it....!

Hey long time no talk hope all is well and I hope to sell some soon.
Oh yeah and this is not me being cocky I was a bit stressed with all of life just got married and have a kid on the way. Really hope things are good for you
Thanks
John
Congratulations! By the way, nice looking hogs.
I havnt talked to the guy with those greens yet, but I've been kinda wondering the same thing, & wondering how long he has been working on this project & how old his green adults are. I have some hogs as green or greener then the ones in his pics from my vivid pastel projects that I am hoping will stay green, but I wont even be advertising any green vivids until the green vivids I have now turn 4 years old & are still green. I think they will stay green, but (I'm sure like many others here) I have hatched out greens from other lines & even bought greens only to have them turn gray after 2 or 3 years. I sell greenish hatchling hogs that could possibly keep the green all the time (like the one you got from me) for a hundred to a couple hundred bucks, but I think before you spend 6 to 8 hundred on one the seller needs to explain how he knows its for sure. I'm going to let that guy know about this thread so maybe he will let us know a bit about them.
Oh yea, one more thing $600. is too low in my opinion if they are real.
The green vivid in this pic is WAY greener looking now, so my fingers are crossed for her & my others like her to keep the green.

Another thing, his pics do look enhansed, but as you can see from my pic it is hard to capture the green in a pic.

Dan Eby
Thanks to all that have replied. The green that I got from Dan Eby as a hatchling is still very green. So, much so, that we named her "Envy".
I have emailed quite a bit with John Kurpas. I can't find anyone who knows him though. I did ask for reputable breeder references and got three names. I haven't heard of any of them nor anyone that has. I won't post the names but maybe he will.
To make things clear the "EVO GREEN" is the super form of the "GREEN". It doesn't really make good business sense to sell either the super, the het, male or female for the flat rate of $600. Maybe, he just wants to get them out in the hog community. Then in a year or two he will have others to vouch for the co-dominant trait.....
i have talked to him about it quite a bit this week. he said the orginal female came out of texas 6 years ago and he has been crossing them with normals and getting a 50/50 ratio. but he was very defensive when i asked if he had proved the line out and it took a couple of emails for him to say the above. He seems like someone trying to get rich quick to me.
now he upped the price to $1200 lol!!
Yes I did you asked for it you get it. It was to low to be a ”real co-dom” so I fixed it I had it lower so more people could afford it. But hey it is what I say it is and you should have got it while they 600
To me it doesnt seem that way at all. To me it seems like he is a guy looking at some very green hognose snakes. Hopefully he will get on here & show us some new pics of the original wc green female. If she is still a green hog & if the greens from her 1st clutch are still green well then they are real green hogs. He kind of explains things in his newest classified ad so he did answer some of my questions & I have asked for pics so hopefully I'll be seeing those soon. He is not a well known breeder, & everyone has to start somewhere so we'll see what kind of reputation he builds for himself. I'm hoping he has some killer green hogs that we'll all get to enjoy in the future.
Dan Eby
I agree with Dan.
Being an unknown breeder, with the claim of a new Co-Dom and an original Ad. that basically read "I got greens, Send me $600-$800 dollars" Was not a good start.
I too am glad he has joined this thread and began to fill in the gaps.
Wow,
I just read his new Ad. and watched the video.
If, that was the original Ad. accompanied by the video.....
This thread and the one on BLBC would not even exist.
I hope he will forgive us all for having questions about information we did not have.
Good Job on the new ad. However, I am not so sure the new price is going to help.
What would help is a video Showing again the adult, the sub-adult and the 4.2 for sale all together.
New video coming soon
Cool,
Good for you John.
I think you will get a much better response.
