Late Honduran Clutch

scaledverts Jul 28, 2012 12:01 AM

My hondurans bred later than I had expected them to. My female just dropped this clutch this morning. They all look good, we'll see in 60 days or so!

The pairing was an anery (pos het albino) to a hypo high black (unknown genetics otherwise, second picture)

Cheers,

Good deal Kyle!

At about 80-82 degrees, Hondo eggs generally take anywhere from around 73-76 days to start hatching though.

nice hypo too BTW!

Thanks Doug,

I wonder why they take longer than kings typically do?

In any case, now I won't be freaking out as much during days 60-70 haha.

Yeah, who knows why. At around 81-82 degrees (plus or minus), all of my Honduran records are between 72 to 80 days, while common kings (getula) at the very same temps in the same incubator are in the 57 to 61 range for me.

Like you said though, at the same temps above, I wouldn't be expecting anything until 70 plus days on the Hondos. Obviously it will vary by a few days with some slight fluctuation or cooler temps, and vice-versa.
