are your turtles a little nutty too?

Just wondering. My baby RES, Crumpet, loves to perch on top of his Fluval submersible, and just hang out. I have no idea why he does this, but he loves it. He also got very mad at me tonight when I scrubbed his shell w/a soft toothbrush - he played dead for awhile, neither moving nor blinking, and he scared me and my friend half to death. He was definitely playing with us! I know that people say that turtle's brains aren't very big, but I still think that they're pretty smart pets, and they have definite personalities all their own. Do any of your babies have funny quirks of their own?

My turtle always leaves her mouth open so she looks like she has a big goofy grin on her face constantly. It cracks me up!
