Leopard not eating

ReptileMatt Oct 05, 2003 07:30 PM

We got a leo at an expo about 3 weeks ago, and 5 days ago we got a shipment of 5 leos. As far as we and the breeder can tell, they are all females. They are all babies and are living in a 10 gallon tank. Since we got the 5 new ones, the original leo has stopped eating. We have separated him in his own tank to encourage him to eat. Our question is, is there anything else we can do to get him to eat? Thanks in advance.

Housing that many babies together will definately arouse with competition between them. They do best housed singly or in pairs... but as for getting the little guy to eat I find crickets the best for getting little ones into feeding.
They get excited by the hunt, if you're trying crix and mealies with no luck, try putting drops of baby food on its nose to get it eating/pooping on a regular basis, then it should get into feeding.
I had one hatch out tiny last year that wouldn't take to crix or mealies and feeding baby food eventually got her eating mealies.

Hope this helps, good luck!

One of my geckos is injured and one is quite small and not an aggressive eater like the others he is housed with... My question is... can i use this baby food technique and what kind of baby food should i use?

Thanks!
