Timing for breeding and second clutch

pasims Aug 03, 2012 03:56 PM

How long after egg laying will well fed females be receptive to a second breeding & clutch?
Can you count the number of sheds after the first egg laying?
Thanks
Paul

After the females lay their eggs feed them a couple of times, they'll probably shed soon after that, offer them another meal or two and try placing the male in a couple days after feeding. If she fights him off try feeding her more. This year all my kings and milks that double clutched went through this process (if the females put weight back on them).
