... I'm pretty sure this is a millipede. Some wierd colors on this guy which the camera captured pretty well.

and I can't pass up a frog who's willing to pose for me. I like the head on angle of this shot.

Keeping cats allows man to cohabitate with tigers. Keeping reptiles allows man to cohabitate with dinosaurs.
Very nice pics, but the first has too many legs for my taste, i prefer animals without legs...thanks for the cool pics!
Definitely a millipede... probably Narceus americanus... millipede means "thousand legger"... but they don't have a thousand legs.
Easiest way to tell a centipede from a millipede... if you know you could count the legs in 15 seconds or less it's a centipede... if you look at it and say "Who in the hell cares how many legs", it's a millipede.
Cool pics as always.

I thought snakes were difficult to photograph. That millipede and it's 1000 legs wouldn't stay still for a second. I finally jacked up my shutter speed, snapped a few and called it a day. Luckily the photos turned out pretty good.
All of the millipedes that I have seen tend to have the legs underneath the body like your picture, and the legs move in waves.
Centipedes definitely have fewer legs, and they are more spread out to the side. They also move much faster than millipedes.
Here is a millipede I photographed in Carlsbad, NM a couple of years ago.
