News and some questions....

Hey there everyone,

I havent been around lately, but for those who are curious its mainly school and chams. My female veiled recently layed 91 eggs, and is now happily eating and drinking as if nothing had happened. Also, i was looking around for some bulbs and noticed that exo-terra has some 8.0's. I was wondering if too much UVB can be detrimental to chameleons health. I have heard of too much UVB causing cancer and other health issues, but how much actual UVB do chameleons come in contact with in the wild? And if they get much more, why are our bulbs supposedly hurting our chams? Any suggestions? By the way, the eggs are only a few months if not weeks due, so wish me luck!

The difference between an 8.0 and a 5.0 is negligible as compared to unfiltered sunlight. I really don't think you can overdose UVB using any type of artificial light. If you use a combination bulb like MV or Active UVHeat the bigger problem could be overheating or burns if the lamp is too close, but no overdosing of UV.
