I was in South Carolina only for the Saturday part of the show, and I wish I produced a thousand Outerbanks Kings. They sold out extremely rapidly! I don't know quite why, but I am glad others see how attractive a sticticeps can be.Glad to have seen some old friends, made a few new ones, and seen some very nice herps on display.

Howie, does this snake look familiar?..

Today my friend Frank in N. Carolina emails me some pics of some new acquisitions he got at the Myrtle Beach show, and lo and behold he includes this photo with two other snakes he got there..LOL!

I said.."dude!, I know EXACTLY who you got that from"..HAHA!!.

So allow me to be the ambassador of presenting a half-decent photo of the unique little "that could be almost anything" animal..HAHA!!..

Thats not the striper. the striped obx has a better prescribed stripe vertbrally. that one I kept.

DMong Aug 15, 2012 05:45 PM

Oh, okay, I thought I may have remembered it looking a bit different in the other pic, but wasn't 100% sure without comparing again. But I knew it had to be yours no matter what though!..

Doug, How did you know that was mine? lol that one also has a bit of striping as well. cool. and thanks for posting. awesome pic. maybe it will make Rainier happy.

Nothing colubrid-related get's by M. Mong very easily..

The very second I opened Frank's email and he mentioned he was at the Myrtle Beach show, I instantly knew it was your OBX animal that you posted a while back...LOL!

My pleasure, I was happy to show it off again for you. Needless to say, Frank is very excited to have it, as he has ALWAYS been the type of guy that seeks out different looking unique stuff for his collection.

Cool that you guys were able to chat some there. I've known him from Ft' Lauderdale in the early 90's and we belonged to the same herp society, etc.. He also mentioned two "good ol' boys" that had a table of corns there, and I instantly knew he was referring to my buds Jim Godfrey and Daryl Camby..

cheers, ~Doug

Yes, I totally agree...

I really like the rare and unique P.ruthveni as well. It's a cryin' shame how some people will muck those up with other races of Pituophis too.
