Spider x Pastel, but what are these?

FireStorm Aug 19, 2012 12:18 PM

So, we bred our Spider male to our Lemon Pastel female, and these look a bit different than what I expected. The Bee has a white head, and her banding is lighter and more blushed out than what I would expect from a Bumblebee. The Pastel is pretty wild, too IMO. Let me know what you think. I will post new pics when they shed, these aren't the greatest. We are still getting used to the new camera.

Nice looking bee. My first batch of bees did the same thing. In fact I showed them to a few well know breeders and they swore they could pass for killer bees. We knew that wasnt possible so it was just determined that they were really nice bees. Now that they have grown up they look more like standard bees but did maintain an overall lightness. The tops of the head colored up after a few sheds. I kept the male and sold off the female. He is now breeding size and I can't wait to see how his babies turn out.
