Not everything I have is a morph! These are what started me off in the Pit world! My pair is a half sib pair produced by John Michels at Black Pearl reptiles. The female is deep in shed.

No true english name, but Mexican Lined Pinesnake is what you'll see in use. Pituophis lineaticollis lineaticollis. I have 1.2 of the original animals ever brought in to the country. A subspecies exists even further to the south; P.l.gibsoni
would love to see pics of those if you get a chance!
yes, Mexican lined pines.
Thats right, P.l.gibsoni comes from Guatemala if I'm right.
Me to I would like to see yours mate.
They are rather antisocial to say the least. Hissy in the xtreme for young ones. My Old timers don't and merely sitting in a viewable cage should be no problem. They are not prone to bite and hold (feeding response the exception) but don't plan on having one lay in your lap for your favorite TV show.
I have only ever seen these snakes once in the flesh, over at Al's, and they are really nice looking animals.
Never see anyone talking about them on the UK forums, and I suspect that a lot of UK pit lovers don't even know they exist!
What are the temperaments like on yours?
they are two years old now and starting to settle down. whenevery i would do anything in the cages prior to the last few months, all i saw was this:
female

male

Ha, yeah that's what I thought you might say!
I really like the idea of owning one of these stunning animals, but as someone who's snakes all live in the front room (not on the sofa, obviously!)I don't know whether the constant activity would stress it out too much?!
Hi Paul,
You are right, only few people know them in Europe.
Al is the only one to have them in the UK and there are also some in Germany.
They are on my wishlist since a few years.
I should have gotten them 2 years ago but John Michels send my ordered 2 pairs to someone else by mistake.
So, I think the snakes on the pictures of Lucas are litter mates of the ones I should have since 2 years.
When I look at the pictures, and see how nice they grew up, I even feel more sad about what happened.
As John Michels sold his adults and one of the breeders died, I hope to get some from Al in the coming years.
Great snakes Lucas!
thanks!
Pretty nice. They act so different then other pits. Interesting animals for sure
