Epicrates striatus fowleri, 2012

pete25 Aug 27, 2012 06:39 AM

Hello,

What a weekend i have had. Saturday i got the inornatus litter and sunday my fowleri decided to drop her litter.

There where 0.0.6 live babies and 8-10 still born.
It was her first time aswell as my first time breeding the species.

I was lucky enough to witness the birth.

There is a good reason why i can be sure how many still born there where,
She ate some of the dead.

But the live babies are looking good ,

Kind regards
Peter

Congrats on the babies and sorry for the stills.

The pics are interesting, they show lots of milky fluids which appear to be ruptured yolk sacks. Were there any actual slugs? I have seen ruptured outer membranes on BRB babies immediately following the more difficult passing of a slug.

Peter,

That’s a great looking clutch regardless of the stills/slugs. Can’t wait to see them after a few sheds.

Congrats on the fowleri! Too bad about all the still-borns... still not bad though, 6 live healthy babies!

My E. s. striatus had 17 slugs two weeks ago - so I'd kill for that litter! ha
