quick question...

mbrawley Aug 30, 2012 10:21 PM

Glade's has some "Robroy's canal strain" south florida kings for sale. Anyone here know the scoop on these? I can't seem to get a response from Glade's.

btw, nice pick up on that new calking, John. I was looking at those on BHB's ads a few weeks ago too.

Thanks in advance for any info!

I've been tempted to get some myself a couple times. I think Lu may have had some, at one time? Good to see you posting!

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!

What's wrong with using CAUTION?!?!?!

Hey how's it going Jorge.

Yeah, they're good looking for sure....I just wish i could get a little info on them. LoL! Hopefully someone will chime in here with some answers.

Take care buddy! Hope all's well.

PS, although I may not post much anymore, I do still lurk around on here.

I suppose I should add, it initially seemed to me this "Robroy canal" strain was a specific locale. But now, not so much. It seems this "strain" is nothing more than Glade's own line trait, and NOT a naturally occurring locality. Too bad Glades won't respond to my email....I wanted to buy a pair.

That strain has been around for a loooooong time and yeah they were locale animals from the c111 canal I think. They have been line bred for sure and if you want locale animals then I wouldn't bother. If you want some pretty Brooksi then they fit the bill. I picked up some f1 Brooksi from Nick Mesa (fox turtle) and they are as nice as any Brooksi from that Glades Herp strain and are locale specific as well. Hope the info helps.
