Advice for starting with bulls

HappyHeathen Aug 31, 2012 04:22 AM

Hello everyone,

My name is Arik and I'm looking to start working with sayi. I've always liked bull snakes since I was a kid catching them out inthe fields but never really worked with them much after I got older. I was always drawn to large boids or some new crazy super colored morph in some other species. I've taken a few years off and am looking to start breeding some snakes again and decided to start off with bull snakes.

Im not really posting to ask about how to care for them but instead would like to know your advice on some reputable breeders and maybe some to avoid. Also, what's "hot" in the world of bull snakes currently? From what Ive been able to tell it seems that true blood lines are very important and being able to trace to a locale garners the highest prices. This would explain the disparity in prices I see when looking around.

I'll probably start making purchases in a couple weeks so I'm just trying to be as informed of a buyer as I can be before that happens.

Thanks in advance,
Arik

I just got a pair of Yellow Bulls from Jason Nelson. For me he was great to do business with. My snakes arrived healthy. 3 hours after setting them up they both took their first meals I offered them.
This is my first pair of Bulls. They are very interesting. The male was a little vocal. The female was very vocal. She tried to intimidate me. It worked. lol
Good luck with whoever you choose.

No sorry, That wasnt me. Ive been in Texas and Iowa. The name is kind've an unusual spelling. I used to post in the anaconda forum years ago but I lost that handle or forgot the password or something so I just created a new one.

Great looking bull in that pic. It looks like I narrowed down a few bulls to get started with but in the next coming weeks Im going to be looking for a few more and would definitely like hearing what you have. I'll send you an email.

Thanks again.
