New odd looking baby Green *loads of pics*

Kestrel Oct 06, 2003 01:40 AM

Never seen babies quite like these before.. My boyfriend being the awesome guy he is paid for one for me for my birthday yesterday. Our local Serpentarium has a large adult pair of Greens, which bred up a storm quite some time ago. I was there and took photos, and came in periodically over the months to check and see how the female was doing.. Well as we found out during our visit this weekend, the female finally dropped her litter. I've been dieing for a green conda for years, so this was fairly exciting for me. lol. Now a friend of mine who's kept many greens backs me up on how unusual they look. What do you guys think?

I named her Yaku. Incan for "water".

male during copulation..

female during the last leg of her pregnancy

` She sure does look unusual, and beautiful! She looks like she has a purple cast, and plenty of orange! Is that just in these pictures? I hope you will keep posting pix as she grows.
` I sure would like to know the name of that serpentarium, and the location.

Yeah, she's much more silver/grey.. A friend is convinced her parents have some Silver conda in them somewhere. heh. Like THATS likely.. And i will definatly be posting lots of pics. Its my other hobby. lol. The serpentarium is in Monroe, Wa.. I read that you live in the northwest somewhere.. If you're in WA, i recommend dropping by the serpentarium at least once..

` I'm in the southwest corner of the Pacific Northwest, in the "Humaboldt Nation". We get the Northwest weather, but have to endure California politics, UGH! I get up to Washington occasionally, as Skamania County is on of my favorite places in the world. Next time, I'll definitely get a little farther north, to Monroe !
` Photography is my other hobby, too. I certainly enjoy your pix, on the other forums, too. Thanks.
