Black Milk Jade has gone to new home

gerryg Sep 09, 2012 03:32 PM

All right... moved to new home would be more accurate.

Finally have a new set of four stackable enclosures much like the other four I've posted before... Jade wasted no time in checking the new digs out for weaknesses... you can't tell from the photo but her body is vibrating from the effort trying to get between the two glass doors...

I left for a few hours after moving her into the new home and when I got back she was just chilling out...

And of course some usual off topic... a Phantom Crane Fly. A very cool little insect

And for those interested in my off topic offerings... a link is provided... go have a closer look.

Jade is one gorgeous snake. Looks like she is enjoying her new home.

I really dig the insect pics too. Great work! Keep 'em coming.

Jade never tires of a kind word thrown in her direction... vanity... her only fault.

Brad... thanks for the comments on the insect photos... I don't mind a kind word either. I enjoy posting them... just not sure if others enjoy my posting them here which is why I've taken to posting in a more appropriate forum and providing a link to them...thanks again.

Actually the new set up is the same as the old... same fake plastic plants, same piece of drift wood, same placement... only real difference is the new set of enclosures are more user friendly (for all of those that play in the kingsnake forum read here... "it's all about me not the snakes" )

Truly appreciate the compliments on the insect photos... when I'm out and about exploring in the field it's the small, often over looked things that intrigue me... nice to hear that I am not completely mistaken in my belief others would be intrigued as well.

I followed this little bugger around for about 15 minutes... it's perched about 2ft over my head and looking at me as intently as I'm looking at it!

Hey Doug, and thanks... you can count on always not being able to believe it... neither Jade or any other milk I currently have is going anywhere unless I'm dead or penniless.

Starting to get antsy... getting closer to the time I get mates for my hondo and abnorma... going to have to give the office receptionist and early warning as she gets a little nervous when a package shows up for me.

LOL!!,.....Yeah, I can definitely relate to every bit of that. Your "Christmas" season is apparently the receptionist's "Freddy Kruger" nightmare!

Thanks Rusty. As I've said before... Jade is near and dear to me because she's a present from my son...not withstanding that... she is still an impressive beast... six and a half feet and not even seven years old yet... secretly hoping she breaks what I think is the 7' 2" record. It would be fitting since, as I also never get tired of mentioning, she was also given to me because she was one of the "runts of the litter".

Anyway, have to go... once again I'm cooking up some buffalo wings and once again the snakes seem to be going nuts because of it... perhaps I should give up feeding them rats in favor of chicks?
