Books?

Aura Oct 06, 2003 07:17 AM

Hi, I'm from Sweden and I recently got two small chuckwallas. Since I don't have any experience with these animals I was wondering if anyone here knows a good book on how to keep chuckwallas? I've searched the web for info but found very little. Thanks

Hi chris thanks for your answer. I'll look around. I don't know what kind of chuckwallas I have, what kinds are there? I've read about redbacks and redtails I think... They're still so small, maybe it shows as they grow older? If I posted a picture would you be able to tell me what kind they are? Talk to ya

Searched my memory some - they are of course sauromalus ater/obesus. Sorry, it's a bit early in the morning for me still and I didn't have my coffee

I am looking for a book on Lizards of the Baja which includes some chuckwallas. Hopefully someone can refer us to some good ones.

I think there is a lot of good information right on the WWW, or this forum's archives, but here is a book I purchased not long ago; its available from Amazon.com; it has information on uromastyx, chuckwallas, Desert Iguanas and other North American desert lizards.

Desert Lizards: Captive Husbandry and Propagation -- Randall L. Gray,

Here is an address to a good care sheet on Chuckwallas and Desert Iguanas; it also includes links and references.
