Help in SW Florida With Popping

rgillis8 Sep 10, 2012 09:28 PM

Just had my first ever clinch hatch out a few days ago. I have watched videos on how to pop hatchlings but tried a few times with not any luck. I do not want to injure any of them. If you live in SW Florida and could show me how I would be willing to pay you.

Thanks

Did you watch Ralph Davis's youtube video thats how I learned it pretty easy after seeing it and you dont have to use enough pressure to hurt them.

I watched it but fumbled around. Wasn't to sure about my results but I found a local guy to help me...thanks

as oz says there are videos out there on this. it really is quite easy - it's a gentle rolling motion. the boys are easy as a red red pops right out. if a non-red nub shows it's probably a girl.

the males you just know. the best way to be sure with the others is to back up your inquiry lets say, by using a sexing probe - you should buy a set if yr going to breed. put the probe in vaseline, slip it under the side of the cloaca towards the end of the tail... if it is indeed a female it will not go far, about 4 scales. males, it goes up 8 scales or so.

it all becomes very easy with practice.
