My satanics

These are some awesome lizards. Ive been watching them for about an hour a night for the past few nights, and its just great. Theyre very active geckos, much more so than my leopard or cresteds.

I got quite a laugh last night, watching my male stalk a cricket. Just before he lunged, the tip of his tails, looks like a little nub, started wagging like crazy. Ive seen this before in many other geckos, but it just looked funny with the leaftail. Kinda like the guy with the little tail in Shallow Hal.

A little later, both the male and female were eyeing the same cricket... male got it first, which didnt leave a very happy female. Male started to chew the cricket a bit, so the female lunged at him, Im assuming trying to steal it from his mouth, or maybe she was just pissed.

Just thought I'd share a little.

I would LOVE to see them.

are you using to watch them at night? I find that mine aren't very active until it's completely dark. I've tried using 15 -25 watt blue night time bulbs, but they don't give off enough light for me to see them. I've also tried a 25 watt red aquarium light and this seems to be too bright for them again......

I've noticed the tail wiggling too... it is pretty funny.

I usually just go into the room and flip the light on. Doesnt seem to bother them at all. The tank is pretty heavily planted and covered on all 3 sides so the only way to look in is from the front. They just continue to go about thier buisness of chasing crix and hanging upside down from branches.

My cresteds tend to freeze up a bit when I turn on the light, but they start moving after a bit.

And my leo could care less about the light, as long as shes getting her mealies.

I use a touch lamp about 10 feet away from the satanics cage. you have to let your eyes adjust. But once they do its like a whole new world in the tank. Hope this helps.

peace,
