Hi, Love your pictures of your Knights. My knight anoles enjoy weird things to eat fruits vegies a small tiny bite of sandwich meat a lil oj or cantaloupe juice ( my fav female loves the juice... right now she has a nasty broken long toe...did you read my post about it? any ideas? ) any strange food yours enjoy I could try.. Also I have one male Mr.nall and 3 large females they have laid about four eggs so far, my one female is still preggo. I am having no success with the eggs they either mold or dry out. I havent tried moist sand yet (builders sand i used when i had my chameleons and they laid eggs) I am getting flusterrated by this b/c I want some babies from my females mostly my female with the broken toe, her temperment would make the best babies (she very friendly and tame she enojys steamy shower and laying with you getting warm. I have found her in my bed next to me a few times) any advice on hatching these? should i put a plant in there, for them to lay in? (i keep crickets in the cage but they do NOT sleep in the cage) Have you had any succesful babies? Thanks any adive or help will be glady taken thanks again Jen

Hello Jen (easy name to remember - my Wife's!),

Sorry for the delay in responding, I've recently switched internet providers. I've found over the years - I got my first Knight when I was 16 and I'm 33 now - that Knights can be the most finicky eaters at times. The three I have now, 1 male and 2 females (mother and daughter), eat superworms, crickets, apricot baby food, and grapes. Food is fortified with vitamins and minerals at least once a week and more during the breeding season. I've succesfully bred my one female, I've had her since '97 and got her as a juvenile from Glades Herp, twice. I usually can only get an egg or two to actually hatch and I'm hoping to get better results this year. One summer I kept a her outdoors and one of the eggs she laid at the base of a corn plant (that I didn't find) actually hatched in my parent's kitchen after I gave them the plant at the end of the summer! Imagine my surprise when my mom called me to come get my damn lizard! Anyway, I've tried the 10gal tank incubator method (tank with glass cover 1/3 full of water, two bricks on bottom, submersible heater, container with vermiculite for eggs, etc.)and will probably do the same this year. I've considered getting a commercial incubator but haven't committed yet. As far as your female's broken toe goes, I can't really offer much advice, as I've not experienced anything like that before. Perhaps splinting the single toe with a toothpick, with sanded blunt ends of course, and some medical tape would enable her to move a bit more naturally while it heals (as opposed to wrapping up her entire foot). Just a thought. Now this was a long post! Good luck and let me know how your toe and breeding efforts go and I'll keep you informed on mine. Later.

hey sorry took so long to reply had some comptuer trouble.. one of my anoles laid another egg i got it while it was fresh and I put it in some potting soil I hope it works. I coverd the top with a moist paper towel and put it in the window sill not in the direct sun but where its warm...ill keep my fingers crossed.
I have an incubator but never had no luck with it. Mrs.Knight-n-Nalls foot is doing better the swelling is going down. How big was the baby that hatched out I would love to see the little babies.. hopeful I can get one to hatch, I bet they are so cute!
well time to go feed and water them. thanks Jen
