Ever see a BCC litter with no aberrant

kitchi Sep 11, 2012 10:12 PM

body saddles? I hadn't either until yesterday's Guyanas. Not a single one. What are the chances of that at least in a litter of large quanity. Well, maybe there has been but this may be my favorite litter ever just because of color and contrast which is what I bred for. They are all going to look like the Grandma shown here who was my favorite orginal Cypress Creek. Yes, even more favorite than the Golden Guyana Girl.

First of all congratulations . . . . . . . if I still collected Guyanese Boas . . . . I'd be bangin down your door over the past four or five years ! . . .
You produce probably my favorite Guyanese Boas . . . .
JB is the only other person I can think of that produces any amount of Guyanese I really like on a consistent basis !

Here is my question; Did the female (Mom / Dam) to this litter move around a lot . . .
lots of thermoregulation and just basically moving around ?

Thx I'd really appreciate it if you could answer this question for me.

Thx Mike . .

Thanks Lar. There was no thermo regulation available for her or the other Guyana that dropped earlier. She only coiled up a few times and generally layed normally. I actually think I may have had it a degree too high but my temp guns is poor and reads higher than my other thermometers. The other girl was coiled up most of the time but not in a severe heat conservation pile. Her cage was a little lower in the room so that is probably why. The Brazilian had the floor oil filled electric heater pulled over near one corner of her big 6 X 3 Vision and hugged that corner most, but not all of the time so she was able to thermo regulate. None of them moved much. The one year that I used heat pads under the cages all but one litter premied out despite the heat pad only covering a small portion of the floor area. It should have been my banner year. I lost some ridiculous babies. I will never do it again.
